The SX460 is a half-wave phase-controlled thyristor type Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) that forms part of the excitation system for brushless generators. It provides precise control of generator output voltage by adjusting the exciter field current, ensuring a stable power supply within +/- 1.0% regulation. Encapsulated in a moisture-proof resin, the SX460 is highly resistant to vibration and humidity. It features built-in Under-Frequency Roll-Off (UFRO) protection and a soft-start capability to prevent voltage spikes and protect connected equipment during startup. Ideal for Stamford series alternators and as a universal replacement in many brushless setups.
